  4. Windows 3.1 Instructions
  5.  
  6. The Installer will install an icon named In The First Demo. 
  7. It will also install QuickTime 2.0.3 files if they are required.
  8.  
  9. To run the install program:  Choose "Run" under the "File" menu and 
  10. type the following in the line labeled "Command Line".

  12.         D: or E:\INSTALL.EXE
  13.  
  14. (where "D:" or "E:"  is the designation of your CD-ROM drive).
  15.  
  16. Click OK.

  18. Double click on the In The 1st Degree Demo icon to begin the demo.

  21. Alternatively, you may run the In The 1st Degree Demo directly from
  22. the disc without installing it if you have QuickTime installed on your 
  23. system.  Choose "Run" under the "File" menu and type the following 
  24. in the line labeled "Command Line".

  28. (where "D:" or "E:"  is the designation of your CD-ROM drive).

  33. NOTE:  The In The 1st Degree Demo requires QuickTime for 
  34. Windows version 2.0.3.   We recommend you run this Demo in thousands 
  35. of colors if your system supports this mode.  Resetting to thousands 
  36. of colors will ensure optimal viewing of the QuickTime movies.

  38. Hardware Required for In The 1st Degree (Full Product):
  39. Windows 3.1 or Windows 95
  40. 486SX 25 MHz or faster
  41. 4MB of RAM (8MB of RAM recommended)
  42. Super VGA (640 x 480, thousands of colors or 256 color modes) 
  43. Windows compatible sound device
  44. Double Speed CD-ROM drive or faster
  45. 4MB of hard disk space
  46.  
  47. Note:  This In The 1st Degree Demo has a higher hardware requirement 
  48. to run than the full version of In The 1st Degree.  
  49. This demo requires a 486 50 MHz machine or faster to play.

  51. System Configuration:  May require adjustments to
  52. the configuration of your Microsoft Windows operating
  53. system or updates to some hardware manufacturers' 
  54. sound or video drives.

  60. Technical Troubleshooting
  61.  
  62. - If you are having trouble running the INTHE1ST.EXE (In The 1st Degree
  63. demo) you may run the demo movies in the QuickTime Movie Player.
  64. They have a .MOV extension and can be run simply by double-clicking on them.
  65.  
  66. - If your screen saver goes on during the demo, this may interfere 
  67. with the movies.  It is recommended that you turn off your screen 
  68. saver or change the activation time to 30 minutes.
  69.  
  70. - It is recommended that you close all other applications before 
  71. running this demo.  QuickTime uses a lot of the system's resources to 
  72. run optimally.  
  73.  
  74. - If you are still having QuickTime problems, please consult the
  75. QuickTime Readme file.
  76.  
  77. - It is not recommended that you task in or out of the demo, because 
  78. you may experience sound or palette problems.
  79.  
  80. - If you are experiencing difficulties, you may also want to try
  81. rebooting your machine without network drivers.
  82.  
  83. - If you are using Virtual Memory, you may want to use 32-bit Disk Access
  84. and a permanent swap file.
  85.  
  86. - The performance of the demo is highly dependent on the speed of 
  87. your video card and video drivers.  If your having performance 
  88. problems, you may consider updating your video drivers.
